Dr. Kate Tran, O.D.
Dr. Kate Tran, O.D. attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, earning a Doctor
of Optometry degree with honors in 2006. She completed undergraduate studies at The University of
Texas at Dallas where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a full scholarship.
Of her many achievements, she has a published article in ‘Review of Optometry’ pertaining to
Plaquenil Retinopathy. Dr. Tran is licensed by the Texas Optometry Board as an Optometric
Glaucoma Specialist, the highest level of optometry licensing in Texas.
Dr. Tran began practicing in 2006 before eventually opening Envy Eye Care in 2012. She has
since developed an enthusiastic following of patients who appreciate her honest and direct
manner in providing preventative eye care and “lifestyle prescribing” - a highly personalized
approach to offering corrective vision solutions. She also has special professional interests
including emerging diagnostic and treatment options, and eye disease prevention.
Dr. Tran is a long-standing member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Texas
Optometric Association (TOA), the Northeast Texas Optometric Society (NETOS) and the
Dallas County Optometric Society (DCOS).
Dr. Tran enjoys crafting, amateur gardening, hiking, and exploring the world with her husband.
She is a proud mother to her two fur babies, Peanut and Butter.
Dr. Tran is fluent in Vietnamese.
